Acceptable Use Policy

Use restrictions, enforcement policy, and reporting routes.

This policy applies to all users and organizations using Evident services.

1. Purpose

This policy defines permissible use, evidence-handling boundaries, and prohibited activity to preserve lawful operation, platform integrity, and user safety.

2. Core principles

  1. Technical integrity before convenience.
  2. Lawful use only.
  3. No fabrication, concealment, or tampering with evidence.
  4. No misuse of platform outputs as legal determinations.

3. Permitted use

Users may use the platform to ingest, organize, process, analyze, and format evidence-related materials for lawful and authorized workflows including litigation support, eDiscovery, investigative analysis, compliance, and institutional records review.

4. Prohibited use

Users must not:

  1. Upload or process data without lawful rights or authorization to do so.
  2. Fabricate, alter, forge, or misrepresent evidence in any form.
  3. Circumvent access controls, quotas, rate limits, or security mechanisms.
  4. Process prohibited content including any content that is unlawful, exploitative, or otherwise prohibited by applicable law.
  5. Use platform outputs to impersonate experts, misstate machine results as factual determinations, or otherwise misrepresent the nature of automated analysis.
  6. Attempt reverse engineering, extraction of proprietary models, or unauthorized scraping of platform systems or data.
  7. Use the platform for harassment, fraud, sanctions evasion, or violations of third-party rights.
  8. Share credentials, provide unauthorized access to third parties, or otherwise violate the account security requirements of the Membership Agreement .

5. Evidence handling requirements

  1. Preserve originals and maintain independent source backups where required by law or professional obligation.
  2. Verify chain-of-custody records and hash integrity before external production or legal submission.
  3. Validate formatting and content completeness before use in any proceeding.
  4. Perform human review of AI, transcription, and detection outputs before reliance in legal or regulatory contexts.
  5. Report suspected integrity failures or chain-of-custody discrepancies through designated support channels.

6. Not legal advice — no representation

  1. The platform and all associated support are technical services only.
  2. Evident Technologies is not practicing law and is not a legal representative of any user or organization.
  3. Users and their counsel remain solely responsible for legal judgments, case strategy, admissibility determinations, and filings.

7. Device and access hygiene

  1. Users must secure endpoints, credentials, and access paths used to reach case materials.
  2. Shared devices and insecure browser sessions are prohibited for sensitive case materials.
  3. Users must report suspected credential compromise or unauthorized access promptly.

8. Enforcement

Evident may investigate, restrict, suspend, quarantine, or terminate accounts or content for policy violations, legal risk, or security threats. Enforcement actions may occur without prior notice where immediate risk exists.

9. Reporting

Report abuse, suspected compromise, or policy concerns through the contact page or designated security channels. Security issues should be reported to security@evident.icu.

10. Policy updates

Evident may update this policy with prior notice of material changes. Where required by law, or where a change materially affects user obligations, Evident will request explicit acceptance before the updated policy applies.
